Ms. Laila Annouri is the Regional Manager of the Drylands, Livelihoods and Gender Program for West Asia Regional Office of IUCN. Ms. Laila Annouri is a Senior Engineer with more than 12 years of professional experience with public, private and international organizations on a range of topics including forests and rangelands management; rural/forest infrastructure; water and biodiversity conservation; desertification and drylands; and poverty reduction. She had designed and implemented more than 35 integrated programs and projects related to natural resources management with an emphasis on climate adaptation. Also, she participated in developing policies at the Regional, National and International level. Additionally, Ms. Annouri helped develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation system for an integrated natural resources management in the Middle East and North Africa. Most recently, she worked with UN Environment in implementing their Science-Policy Interface program in West Asia.
Ms. Annouri has a B.Eng and M.Eng in water and forestry from the Ecole Nationale Forestiere d’Ingenieurs in Morocco, and also a Graduate degree from the University of California, in Natural Resources Management, Environmental Policy and Climate Change. She is an alumna of the prestigious U.S. Presidential program, the Hubert Humphrey Fulbright Fellowship.
